Position Location: Shreveport, LA

DURATION - Approximately 32 weeks.

The MRC is the project contact and coordinator for material deliveries, off-loading, receipt inspection, and laydown area management for Client-purchased materials and equipment. Typical duties associated with this position include but are not limited to:

1. Ensure that Client policies, standards, and procedures are implemented and followed

2. Manage/monitor material receipt, inspection, off-loading, storage, and distribution status of all materials provided by Client

3. Produce periodic material status reporting to Client Engineering for status evaluation

4. Perform other duties that may arise from time to time.

5. The MRC shall be capable of:

a. Working with a site’s warehousing system for storage and retrieval of Client- supplied materials

b. Assisting procurement with expediting of Client-supplied materials

c. Handling Client-supplied materials on site

d. Identifying details of each material distribution transaction

e. Establishing proper storage and storage maintenance requirements for sensitive materials

f. Properly documenting/filing supplier-furnished document certifications and records

g. Presenting status reports to project leadership and stakeholders

6. Reports

a. Regular Material Status Reports by package and/or supplier

7. Meetings

a. Attend/conduct Weekly Site Coordination Meetings with all suppliers active on the site

b. Attend/conduct weekly meeting with Discipline Coordinators to review status and address issues/constraints


· Seven (7) years of experience in the engineering and industrial construction industry as a material controller for industrial construction projects.

· Should have an engineering knowledge across multiple disciplines with emphasis on discipline interfaces and information flow.

· Strong leadership presence, motivational skills, and customer service oriented.

· Assure that adequate Project Controls for the project are in place and are functioning.

· Capable of leading and communicating with the construction management team and project engineering team to ensure complete understanding and fulfillment of project objectives.

· Refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry experience is required.

· Must have construction field experience working knowledge across multiple disciplines with emphasis on discipline interfaces and information flow.

· Excellent working knowledge of material management processes.

· Must have demonstrated leadership capability on projects.

· Excellent communication skills with construction team and client management.

· Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.

· Works well with client personnel.

Conduct field trips as necessary to gather operating data and equipment information required to develop the project scope. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

All candidates must pass background checks, drug screening, qualify for issuance of TWIC credentials, and pass client site specific safety training requirements.
