ON-SITE QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL REPRESENTATIVE
This position is: Full Time
Position Location: Shreveport, LA

DURATION - Approximately 32 weeks.


The QA/QC Representative represents Client as the responsible on-site manager for implementation of and adherence to the Client QA/QC program.

Duties normally associated with this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

1. Produce and deliver periodic project reporting for Client leadership

2. Supervise all members of the Engineering capital project QA/QC Team on the site

3. Processing and updating periodic QA/QC reports

4. Ensure that Client policies, standards, and procedures are implemented and followed

5. Overall management of all QA/QC related matter

6. Monitor/manage QA/QC program

7. Monitor/manage/perform materials receiving inspections

8. Perform other duties that may arise from time to time.

9. The QC shall be capable of:

a. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards

b. Performing QA/QC inspections

c. Evaluating Individual Test Packages for scope and content

d. Witnessing inspections and providing feedback on unacceptable observations

e. Identifying and documenting NCRs

f. Performing remote shop inspections

g. Providing receiving inspections/reports

h. Verifying use and qualification of welding procedure/welders

10. Reporting

a. Assist with generation of Weekly Project Status Report to include

i. Status of NCRs

ii. Status of QA/QC document audits

iii. Status of QA/QC receiving inspection findings

iv. Status of system testing

v. Status of punch list activity

b. Assist with generation of a Monthly Project Status report

i. Status of NCRs

ii. Status of QA/QC document audits

iii. Status of QA/QC receiving inspection findings

iv. Status of system testing

v. Status of punch list activity

11. Meetings

a. Attend weekly Contract Status Meetings with each supplier

b. Attend weekly meeting with Discipline Coordinators to review status and address issues/constraints

c. Attend QA/QC-related meetings as necessary

Requirements:
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the engineering and industrial construction industry as a QA/QC representative on industrial type construction projects.
  • Bachelorís Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Should have engineering management knowledge across multiple disciplines with emphasis on discipline interfaces and information flow.
  • Working knowledge of material management processes, construction and site issues.
  • Strong leadership presence, motivational skills, and customer service oriented.
  • Capable of leading and communicating with the construction management team and project engineering team to ensure complete understanding and fulfillment of project objectives.
  • Refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry experience is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

∑ Must have QA/QC working knowledge across multiple disciplines with emphasis on discipline interfaces and information flow.

∑ Working knowledge of material management processes.

∑ Capable of understanding contractual terms (warranty, guaranty, indemnity, etc.).

∑ Must have demonstrated leadership capability on projects.

∑ Excellent communication skills with construction team and client management.

∑ Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.

∑ Must be able to make decisions that must be made, however unpopular.

∑ Works well with client personnel.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • SAP, Word, Excel

Conduct field trips as necessary to gather operating data and equipment information required to develop the project scope. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

All candidates must pass background checks, drug screening, qualify for issuance of TWIC credentials, and pass client site specific safety training requirements.
