FB&D's Design for Constructability
Program is multifaceted, dynamic, and aggressively designed to bridge the gap that may
exist between engineering and construction. FB&D endorses the definition of the
Construction Industry Institute
(CII) for Constructability.
FB&D's policy states that design for Constructability is an important element of the Total Quality Process in our Company. Design for Constructability concepts are applied by FB&D project teams to the fullest extent for attainment of project objectives as defined by our clients.
At FB&D, we apply Constructability to integrate the project goals of the client and contractor so as to achieve maximum cost effectiveness for the total project while producing a technically superior facility.
To accomplish these objectives, FB&D has tailored a design for Constructability Procedure to include the following elements:

- Sequenced System Turnover Planning
- Project Design Review for Constructability Concepts
- Project Design for Constructability Coordinators

A representative of the construction group is invited to serve as the Project Team Constructability Coordinator to work with the project team to verify Constructability implementation on projects.
