Bacon & Davis’ Young Professionals Organization (YPO) held its monthly
meeting on April 18, 2018, in the training room of the Baton Rouge Lakeland
Manager of Projects, presented "The Art of Teamwork”, in adherence to the new
"Breaking Down Silos” program the company instituted this year. "Breaking Down
Silos” is designed to facilitate communication between engineering disciplines
to gain understanding of the responsibilities, and technical know-how, of each
of Projects, Lee is responsible for all engineering disciplines working together
in one of FB&D’s large task forces, toward a common goal – the successful
execution of project.
"The Art of
teamwork begins with the desire to succeed, and is enabled by understanding
that it takes a team to do it,” exclaimed Lee.
defined the word "team”, and opened a discussion of how to know if a team is
really a team. He showed a graphic that said "We are not a team because we work
together. We are a team because we respect, trust and care for each other.”
continued, "Each role of a team varies, but every player understands and does
their part. Each individual relies on all other team members to do their part.”
