PROCESS SPECIALIST 1 - GREENVILLE, SC


This position is: Full Time

Position Location: Greenville, SC

Under close supervision, performs routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard process engineering theories, principles and concepts. Activities are directly initiated, supervised and reviewed by more senior level engineer.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May provide some technical guidance for design personnel.

EDUCATION:

Requires at least a 4-year degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Bachelor of Science with Chemical Engineering major.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Entry-level position normally requiring 0 - 2 years of work experience in process design or related functional area. Passed the Engineer in Training (EIT) Exam, or fufilled all requirement to take the exam in a timely manner. Candidate must have experience with process simulations. Software experience includes ASPEN HYSYS, ProMax, PipeFlow.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with the client to develop detailed scopes of work for capital projects.
  • Conducts field trips to gather operating data and equipment information.
  • Develops piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), line lists, and tie-in lists.
  • Designs / evaluates overpressure protection systems for new and existing equipment.
  • Performs basic process calculations.
  • Provides process information and design guidance to other engineering disciplines.
  • Participates in process safety reviews.
  • Candidate must be capable of working multiple projects at different phases of development at one time, OT may be required on occasion.
  • Prepares routine technical reports.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clear and concise routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

2D/3D ELECTRICAL DESIGNER - GREENVILLE, SC


This position is: Full Time

Position Location: Greenville, SC

SCOPE:

Under general direction, performs moderately-difficult design assignments which require the application of advanced design techniques in accordance with company and industry standards and codes. Most assignments are performed with minimal guidance.

Drawing deliverables may be developed in either 2D or 3D environments depending on the project.

May be responsible for a group of designers/drafters assigned to a single project or working in a specialized field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes design criteria for assigned phase of a project requiring the application of basic engineering principles, material properties, and a familiarity with construction, installation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Assists with continued development of, and adherence to, department standards and specifications.
  • Possesses attention to details.
  • Performs lighting and wire way fill calculation
  • Generates detailed grounding drawings (Above/Below Ground)
  • Models electrical rooms
  • Models above and below ground industrial wire ways (Cable Tray, Raceway, Duct Banks, Trenches, etc.)
  • Models junction boxes, field panels, lighting and other miscellaneous items as required by project.
  • Provides sizing for starters, conductors, and cables.
  • Generates material take offs for capital cost estimates using plan drawings and/or 3D models.
  • Assists with procuring quotations and developing requisitions for instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Provides conceptual input to projects during the planning stages.
  • Prepares detail and layout drawings and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge. Assignments regularly include determining material needs and performing necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references.
  • Works jointly with other discipline groups to model electrical and controls equipment within the overall project 3D model.
  • Reviews manufacturers' and or fabricators' prints for conformance with contract specification.
  • Provides junior-level design/drafting personnel with design sketches for preparation of finished design drawings, general layouts, and guidance in refining technical requirements.
  • Supports field assignments and leads field walk downs as required.
  • Provides technical guidance to lower-level design/drafting personnel and reviews completed assignments for accuracy.
  • Regularly interfaces with other departments, clients, vendors, and project specialists in order to support project production.
  • Performs other related tasks in support of project specialist that are non-routine and complex in nature, such as writing procedures and specifications; analyzing bids; compiling and analyzing various engineering design and/or test data, estimating, etc.
  • Performs certain administrative tasks, such as determining manpower requirements, establishing drawing schedules, assigning tasks to junior-level design/drafting personnel, etc.

Incumbent must demonstrate a sound understanding of design concepts with minimal engineering input and a proficiency in utilizing manual and computer-assisted techniques for moderately-difficult design applications. Incumbent must demonstrate a working knowledge of working in a 2D/3D CAD environment.

SR. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - GREENVILLE, SC

Scope:

Independently performs Electrical Engineering activities for all phases of Electrical development and equipment design for a project of moderate size and complexity. SR. PROCESS ENGINEER - LAKE CHARLES, LA


Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work in a team environment to perform the following: process design, relief valve sizing, develop heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, size and specify large scale petroleum refining equipment including, fired heaters, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, fractionation towers, piping and related equipment. The technologies involved will be diverse and cutting edge, spanning all aspects of modern refinery, petrochemical and chemical operations.

Job Description:

Manage Lake Charles Process Engineering Group and working directly with department manager, project managers, office manager, and clients to ensure projects are adequately supported.

Developing PFDs, UFDs, and P&IDs, process specification for instrumentation (control valve sizing, flowmeters, etc.), relief valve sizing, heat and material balances, process design and assessment of mechanical equipment, hydraulic modeling (including complex networks and 2-phase analysis), design of over-pressure protection for new and existing equipment (including general relief contingencies and column relief contingencies), flare network modelling evaluations.

Engineering and process design for pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, fired heaters, columns, and exchangers.

Manage front end development through to final appropriation.

Managing multiple project, budgets and scope changes.

Responsible for ensuring quality and consistency for engineering design information.

Qualifications:

Candidate must have experience managing and leading process activities for all size projects.

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with preferred master’s.

Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in process engineering- including process design.

Candidate must have a background in refinery, petrochemical and chemical.

The position requires a high degree of technical competence regarding the broad application of mechanical engineering principles to the development of new capabilities and/or solutions to the customers’ challenging needs.

In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical engineering and technical tasks to support design and construction of medium to large Capital Projects. Your work will include planning, design, analysis, and engineering inputs into the construction and maintenance of chemical plant facilities. You must be fully competent in performing all conventional aspects of Mechanical Engineering. You should also be capable of applying independent judgment to evaluate, select and modify engineering criteria, methods and procedures.
