PROCESS SPECIALIST 1 - GREENVILLE, SC

Position Location: Greenville, SC

Under close supervision, performs routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard process engineering theories, principles and concepts. Activities are directly initiated, supervised and reviewed by more senior level engineer.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May provide some technical guidance for design personnel.

EDUCATION:

Requires at least a 4-year degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Bachelor of Science with Chemical Engineering major.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Entry-level position normally requiring 0 - 2 years of work experience in process design or related functional area. Passed the Engineer in Training (EIT) Exam, or fufilled all requirement to take the exam in a timely manner. Candidate must have experience with process simulations. Software experience includes ASPEN HYSYS, ProMax, PipeFlow.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with the client to develop detailed scopes of work for capital projects.
  • Conducts field trips to gather operating data and equipment information.
  • Develops piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), line lists, and tie-in lists.
  • Designs / evaluates overpressure protection systems for new and existing equipment.
  • Performs basic process calculations.
  • Provides process information and design guidance to other engineering disciplines.
  • Participates in process safety reviews.
  • Candidate must be capable of working multiple projects at different phases of development at one time, OT may be required on occasion.
  • Prepares routine technical reports.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clear and concise routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

PROJECT MANAGER - GREENVILLE, SC


This position is: Full Time

Position Location: Greenville, SC

Applicant is required to lead all activities on a project. The Project Manager is liaison between the Client and engineering company and will be responsible for overall quality and timeliness of the work of all engineering personnel assigned to the project including the coordination of the discipline leads, Project Engineers and Project Leads.

This position shall be responsible for the following tasks:

· Lead all project activities for a project through with a requirement to keep project within scope, budget and on schedule

· Interface directly with the Client management team

· Ensures all disciplines work within the agreed upon Project objectives and deliverables

· Works with Discipline Managers in assignment of personnel

· Establishes overall project budget and subsequent staffing plan and maintains throughout project reporting deviations to engineering management team

· Ensures a comprehensive project procedure manual is maintained and adhered to throughout project

· Maintains engineering management of change with regards to deviations from project scope

· Coordinate with Project Controls project schedule updates and project reporting

· Coordinate with the Client management team all project subcontracts including Construction and provide support as required

Requirements:

Normally requires a 4-year BS degree in engineering and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the engineering field. Experience within the chemical, specialty chemical, oil/gas, or biofuels industry is a plus but not necessarily required. ONSITE ELECTRICAL/INSTRUMENT ENGINEER - PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA

Description

The E/I Engineer will work closely with the Project Engineer (PE) and provide technical expertise and leadership in the development of refinery capital projects ranging from $5 MM to $20MM. This position will work closely with other contract engineering firms, owner discipline engineering subject matter experts (SME’s), inspection, operations and maintenance teams.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Produce IFC quality packages for capital projects designed by in house resources
  2. Review and comment on packages designed by engineering contractors

Job Description

Prepare Total Installed Cost (TIC) PIF estimates (OME or ROM +/- 50% to +/-100% accuracy).

- Research drawings, clarify scope/intent, request pricing from vendors (as needed).

- Prepare Order of Magnitude estimates from very preliminary scope.

- Understand scope, develop quantity take-offs & create estimates for all crafts in a project.

- Understand the costs for Turnaround related work and how to apply to the estimate.

- Engage project schedulers to understand project time constraints.

- Engage cost analysts to understand costs spent to date and special cost categories in project.

  • Provide estimate options (as requested).
  • Formal Review of Engineering contractor's FEL2 & FEL3 phase estimates with Client Project Managers
    • Provide guidance to engineering estimators in development of their TIC estimates.
    • Review vendor quotes in estimates and challenge discrepancies that arise when discussing scope.
  • Create FEL1 (+/-40%), FEL2 (+/-30%) & FEL3 (+/-10%) phase estimates.

I & E Senior Lead Designer/Coordinator Job Description

Working on site at the client’s facility participating on engineering projects from original concept to field follow-up, this includes working with other members of the on site Design/Engineering Team as well as other on site discipline groups within the facility and provides functional oversight of the I&E design team.

Responsibilities: (Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to)

  • Produce instrument and electrical construction packages for multiple discipline projects in the petrochemical industry.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop work assignments for the I&E teammates.
  • Experience in Design of power distribution and control systems
  • Experience in Design of Electrical and Control systems using AutoCAD
  • Experience in Design of medium and low voltage Single Line Diagrams for power distribution for Transformers, Switchboards and Motor Control Centers

SCOPE:

Under general direction, performs moderately-difficult design assignments which require the application of advanced design techniques in accordance with company and industry standards and codes. Most assignments are performed with minimal guidance.

Drawing deliverables may be developed in either 2D or 3D environments depending on the project.

May be responsible for a group of designers/drafters assigned to a single project or working in a specialized field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes design criteria for assigned phase of a project requiring the application of basic engineering principles, material properties, and a familiarity with construction, installation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Assists with continued development of, and adherence to, department standards and specifications.

Scope:

Independently performs Electrical Engineering activities for all phases of Electrical development and equipment design for a project of moderate size and complexity. Must be fully competent in performing all conventional aspects of Electrical Engineering and application of independent judgment for the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering criteria, methods, and procedures. Assignments have objectives requiring the investigation of a number of variables. Periodic review of work done by less experienced engineers is required.
